Today a bunch of my friends and I decided to act like kindergardeners and head out to our local county park to play on the swings, play tag, and just hang out since we've been constantly on the go due to high school basketball march madness (which is finally over, thank god.) which was a grand time had by all who attended the small gathering.
Well, Kate started to swing, getting higher and higher. I jumped at and angle where I could get the setting sun behind her, thus causing this shot to be born. I used burst mode on my Cannon to take a lot of shots, and this one really was just right. I personally am in awe of my luck in photography yet again. (Yes, I call it luck because it sure as hell isn't talent.)
So, thus is the story behind this shot. It's a lot like Kate too. She's a big kid. As am I, so it's always fun when we're together at places like the park, or even when shooting darts from a cheap wal*mart gun across the room from each other. I think this shot catpures who Kate really is fairly well. I'm excited.
Anyway, I hope you guys like this as much as I do.

Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
